A fine and small William Comyns timepiece. The beautiful ‘mock’ tortoise shell case with bun feet and shaped handle gives the clock a timeless design. The handle, hinge, bun feet and bezel are all solid silver and 9ct gold plated. The clock retains the original outer leather covered case which is in good but slightly distressed condition. This has obviously led to the little timepiece being protected and having survived in remarkable condition.

A very attractive and quite unusual ‘shield shape’ timepiece in solid silver by the famous silversmith William Comyns with hallmarks and date letter stamp of 1909. The clock stands on four solid, turned feet and has fine lining to the front panel. Not too small, measuring 19cms tall. Wound from the rear behind a wooden door. A clock which looks good almost anywhere you place it ! Interestingly William Comyns was founded in 1730’s and in business from the 1850’s until the 1930’s with the W.C trade/hallmark. Comyns silversmiths is still trading and with a quick search you’ll see the fine contemporary pieces they now produce. Sold fully restored. A beautiful object and good investment.

A large size solid Silver carriage timepiece with an 8 Day movement and enamel dial. The case is stamped with the hallmark of William Comyns of Beak Street, London. They were famous Silversmiths and this piece was made in 1898 with the letter c.

A fine solid Silver ‘repousse’ cased carriage timepiece with an enamelled dial and fine blued steel hands. The week duration movement is wound from a turn key inside the back and has been fully serviced and regulated. The clock case was made by the very respected Silversmiths – William Comyns and bears the hallmarks W.C and the letter ‘F’ for 1901. This clock is quite large, unlike many smaller Silver timepieces and sits nicely on mantel or shelf. A beautiful object and good investment. Sold with a 24 Months R.T.B guarantee.
